The Apartment

The Apartment is located at the hill of Hohenklingen. It is surrounded by generous green. In its background are the vineyard, the forests with the castle of Hohenklingen, the old city and the Rhein river are to your feet.

Comfort: Own entrance, patio with grill, eat-in kitchen, bedroom with one double bed (160 cm) and one single bed, Living room with one folding sofa (140 cm), dishwasher, sat TV, hair-dryer, flat iron. Washing machine and tumbler are shared with a second party. No telephone. Fondue stove, toaster, filter coffee machine.

In comfortable walking distance: Old town, shopping, lido, public landing stage. The railway station is within 20 minutes walking distance.

The Old Town of Stein am Rhein

Stein am Rhein offers an intact picture of the old town, with its marvelous frescos at the old town houses,the prominent middle ages buildings, the Monastery of St. Georgen, the Arsenal and its town gates and towers. The public landing stage with its boulevard restaurants, the city park and the children playground along the Rhein River invite to stroll and to dwell.

The Neighborhood

Get fascinated by the amazing landscape of the neighborhood. Climb the stairs up to the well preserved Castle of Hohenklingen (20 min.) and enjoy the marvelous view over the old town, up the Rhein River the islands of Werd and downstream over Schaffhausen and the foothills of Black Forest and the Randen.

Activities, Leisure Time, Sports

From Stein am Rhein many nice hiking and bike trails along the River and around the Lake Constance are directly accessible.

The volcano hills of the Hegau (20 min. car ride) with their ruins invite to be discovered.

The mountainous Toggenburg, the Alpstein with the Säntis mountain and the Black Forest offer wonderful hiking trails (1 hour car ride).

In the summertime splash in the fresh and clear waters of the Rhein River and get floated downstream. With a canoe paddle along the riverside and find your own small beach.

Take a public boat and cruise downstream over the most beautiful river landscape of Europe. Visit the old town of Schaffhausen with its distinctive fort Munot and the Rhinefalls. Or take the other direction, up the river to the Lake Constance to the city of Constance, the islands Reichenau or Mainau.

At rainy weather many attractions in the vicinity offer relief. For instance the Museum Lindwurm in Stein am Rhein, the Arts Center, the indoor and outdoor swimming pools or the cinema theatre Kinepolis in Schaffhausen or the Technorama in Winterthur or one of the many other museums.
